Hi everyone! So if you noticed, I didn’t release a newsletter last week. That was because I was on vacation. I traveled to San Antonio, Texas. I drove from here (Chicago) to there (and vice versa) and it was an 18 hour drive, but I did the trip in two days. There was no way in hell that I was going to drive through the whole trip in one go.
I was there for Halloween and for the first week of November. I was there to visit my best friend, and I had a great time seeing her. Although, I’m really sad that I didn’t get to spend time with her on Halloween, I did end up going to the bars downtown San Antonio and I made new friends there. I karaoked and I ended up having a blast there.
I was also in San Antonio because I was searching for a job and an apartment there. Yes, I plan on moving out of my state (Illinois). I’ve been wanting to move to San Antonio for at least four years now. My reasons for moving there are for more months of hot weather, everything’s cheaper there, I’m away from tornado alley (Dallas and Austin fall under that), I’m away from hurricanes (Houston falls under that), and it’s just Texas. I LOVE TEXAS!
I’m not going to lie, when I was in San Antonio last week, I struggled to find an apartment and to land myself a job there. I wanted to secure a job before I move out there but it was so hard. And a lot of these apartments that I checked out, the people who worked there told me that in order for me to rent an apartment, I need to either show my paystubs or show them a job offer as proof that I’m able to make the rent payments. So because of the fact that my best friend saw me struggling, she offered me to live with her in the meantime while I look for a job and an apartment there. I’m so happy that she offered me this opportunity and so grateful that I can call her my best friend. I was supposed to move to San Antonio last month, but that didn’t work out, so now I postponed my move until early January next year. And even then, I was still hesitant of moving out early next year until my best friend told me that I can move in with her. That honestly lifted the burden on my shoulders. And because of that, I will officially and comfortably move out to San Antonio next year in January!
So now that I’m back, I may release a current event newsletter sometime later this week, but if not, I will definitely release one next Monday. I just wrote this newsletter to give an update why I did not release a newsletter next week.
